Lloyd has extensive experience working in the entertainment law industry, specialising in the area since 1971.

Lloyd graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws, University of Queensland and Master of Laws, University of London.

He has been the Assistant Editor (Consumer Affairs) CCH Ontario, Canada, Assistant Executive Officer (Legal), Australian Film Development Corporation and Australian Film Commission and General Manager (Business Affairs), and acting director of New South Wales Film Corporation and a director of the South Australian Film Corporation.

In 1979 Lloyd entered private practice setting up his own firm specialising in Entertainment Law.

From 1979-81 he was the Legal consultant to the New South Wales Film Corporation. Since 1981 Lloyd has acted continually for Film Finances Inc., one of the world’s leading Completion Guarantors of film.

Over the many years he has practiced, Lloyd has prepared a large number of Registered Film Prospectuses on films designed for international distribution, together with giving advice to and representing producers, writers and directors.

Lloyd has now shifted some of his focus and energy into the related intellectual property and commercial law provinces of Technology Law.

Russell has been a practicing lawyer in the area of entertainment and technology law since 2003. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology, Sydney, a Master of Laws from the University of New South Wales (with a major sequence in Media, Communications and IT Law) and is awaiting graduation with a Master of Criminology from Sydney University.

Russell has lectured at UNSW, Macquarie University and UTS in subjects such as Information Technology Law, Legal Research and the Computerisation of Law and Legal Practice.

Previously, Russell worked at AustLII (the Australasian Legal Information Institute). As Australia’s premier provider of online legal information and data, AustLII is a non-profit institution dedicated to improving the accessibility of the legal system. His work included teaching (as an Associate Lecturer in Law at UTS), research into applying technology to law and legal practice and systems development on AustLII itself and the related WorldLII site.

As well as legal knowledge, Russell has practical experience with software development and the open source community and is the facilitator and community organiser for the open source programming language “Self”.

Russell’s areas of interest include technology law, internet law, media & entertainment law and criminology.

Previously, Graham worked at the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office as a Paralegal and has interned at Stevenson Watson Media and Entertainment Lawyers. He also worked as a paralegal in the area of insolvency and debt recovery.

Graham’s areas of interest include media & entertainment law and intellectual property law.

Melissa works part time at our firm and also as the Business Affairs Manager for the Australian children’s entertainment group, The Wiggles.

More recently, Melissa has worked at Verge Whitford & Co Film and Television Lawyers. Previously, she worked at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) as a Paralegal and Legal Assistant.

While a law student, Melissa volunteered at the Macquarie Legal Centre, a Community Legal Centre which provides legal advice for low income earners living in the Western Sydney region.

Her areas of interest include media & entertainment law, intellectual property law and human rights law.
